TCCIA/Construction Occupations Meeting

2. The minutes from the last meeting were approved.

3. Announcement of staff changes in TIVA: Jennifer Davis has retired from TIVA. The position should be filled by April. Harry Ferguson is her interim replacement and will be the person to contact for being a summer presenter.
4. Discussed TIVA Summer Training and how we can assist TIVA staff in getting good training sessions this summer. The suggestion was made to talk with David Barron for an off-site visit to the Career Center in Houston (half day) and local CTE program at Pasadena ISD (half day). Another possibility is looking at internships with IBI Group. Other ideas were: off-site visit to a construction site, off-site visit for ShopBot CNC, and the possibility of having Marvin Mack do another training.
5. Discussed TCCIA t-shirts for members (approved in summer). An email will be sent to TCCIA members to get shirt sizes. The shirts will be distributed at summer TIVA conference.
6. Last minute announcements for SkillsUSA District and State Competition:
a. Keep in mind cost of contest before making suggestions
b. Architectural and Mechanical Drafting: 1&2 at district compete in Skills at state, and 3&4 at district compete in Technical at state
7. Other:
a. Update on Autodesk products tomorrow will cover a broad spectrum
b. The problems with the conference app have now been fixed
c. Gene mentioned that there might be a Dewalt prize package at state
d. Urged members to vote
